A fully funded master’s scholarship for international students is available through the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics Scholarship 2023-2024. A scholarship awarding an average of €16,000 also provides the recipient with waivers covering 100% of their tuition fees.

Barcelona GSE offers admission to students who have demonstrated their aptitude for success in our rigorous, intensive Master’s programs. The most outstanding candidates also receive a financial offer that covers all or part of their tuition costs.

Public and private sponsors, as well as Barcelona GSE’s own resources, provide this merit-based funding

Financial assistance with waivers for 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25% of tuition fees are available at the Barcelona GSE, in addition to a limited number of fully-funded scholarships. Only candidates with outstanding academic records will be considered for financial aid.

Eligibility Criteria for Barcelona Graduate School of Economics Scholarships

The following requirements need to be fulfilled for a candidate to qualify for a Barcelona Graduate School of Economics scholarship.

Required Languages: English

Eligible Countries: Developing country students from around the world

  An undergraduate or graduate degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university (180 ECTS is required for Bologna degrees).

  A common applicant will possess a university diploma in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Business Administration.

  To apply, one must have an advanced level of English skills: a TOEFL test score of at least 90, or an IELTS score of at least 6.5

It is not required, but highly recommended:

  GRE General Test

How to Apply for Barcelona Graduate School of Economics Scholarships?

The application instructions for this scholarship are as follows:

(1) Ready your application materials:

Undergraduate transcripts: For example, if you haven’t yet been accepted, you can submit an unofficial copy with your application. But, any student who is accepted needs to send in official transcripts as soon as school starts so you can be assigned classes.

Undergraduate diploma: You must upload a letter stating your commitment to graduating before starting your master’s program at the Barcelona GSE if you are applying before completing your undergraduate program

  Passport copy

  Curriculum vitae (CV) (2 pages maximum)

  Statement of purpose (700 words maximum)

English proficiency requirements: if you are not a native English speaker, your application must be supplemented with TOEFL, IELTS, or Cambridge scores or certificates. We advise those who are not in possession of one of these language certificates to wait until they can meet this requirement by supplying documents of such.

Optional but highly recommended: Applicants are often encouraged to submit the GRE General Test score because it is a useful part of many admission decisions.

Having a good GRE score is helpful to a candidate who majored in sociology or some other subject and may not have had rigorous math training. The GRE has traditionally helped admissions directors identify candidates with little mathematical background. In this regard, Barcelona GSE encourages candidates to take the GRE General Test (Barcelona GSE institution code for GRE General Test: 2531).

Two reference letters must include:

  • Ability to adapt to new environments

(2) Fill out the online application form: You will have the option to list up to three programs in order of preference when you create your application.

(3) Each academic year, you may apply for a maximum of three programs.

(4) There is a 60€ non-refundable fee. Visa, Mastercard, and some bank transfers are accepted.

(5) You will be notified of your admission decision and any financial aid offer within 4-6 weeks (if available)
