If you want to go to continue your study in the United States on a fully funded scholarship, then now is the best time to grab the opportunity. Fulbright Scholarships are open right now. Here you will find an explanation of this scholarship and how to apply.

Fulbright Scholarship 2023-2024 is an opportunity for international students to apply for a scholarship that covers tuition and provides $1000 to $2500 per month. The scholarship is only available to students pursuing masters and PhD degrees. It covers full tuition, a living stipend, full accommodation, airfare, and health insurance for Fulbright Foreign Student Program participants.

The U.S. Department of State sponsors these scholarships, which are the government’s flagship international educational exchange program. The program aims to foster mutual understanding among nations through educational and cultural exchange. Applicants are selected at random and are chosen regardless of their race, color, nationality, sex, age, religious belief, socioeconomic background, disability, or sexual orientation.

United States has provided the Fulbright scholarship to students from all 155 countries to attend U.S. universities and academic institutions since 1946. Originally, the scholarship was created to help young, talented, and artistic foreign students pursue graduate studies and conduct world-class research in the U.S.

This is a merit-based scholarship providing up to five years of funding for study at a U.S. university. AMIDEAST continues to help countless Fulbright students fulfill their missions here in the United States by offering scholarship assistance.

For more than forty years, AMIDEAST has placed students from throughout the Middle East and North Africa region into universities in the United States. Serving as a platform for academic exchanges and cultural dialogue, the Fulbright Program has been integral to its success.

How to Apply for the Fulbright Scholarships 2023?

It is necessary to follow this series of steps to apply for the Fulbright scholarships for the year 2023.

(1) Make an Online Application

To be considered for the Fulbright Foreign Student program, you will need to provide a variety of documentation that can be used to determine your qualifications. In order to apply, all materials should be submitted with the application.

(2) Prepare Academic Transcripts and Degrees

All transcripts and degrees from a 4-year undergraduate degree, a three-year bachelor program, or the equivalent – such as ACCA. To apply for a PhD program, one must also provide evidence of their master’s or MS degree and transcripts. If you receive your undergraduate degree by December of this year, you may also apply.

Transcripts are evaluated holistically by the USEFP, not just on the basis of their grade point average. A number of factors are considered, including where you received your education, what courses you took, and how you performed in those courses. On top of that, they also reflect on the difference between universities and their grading systems. Among the requirements for eligibility is an excellent undergraduate academic record, but no specific cutoff grade-point average exists. Even with their strong academic record, undergraduate courses are just one of the elements considered by Fulbright’s panel when considering a candidate.

(3) Take GRE General Test and TOFEL

Upon submitting your application, you may include the unofficial GRE score you received on test day or the official score you received after the test. Each applicant needs to get ETS to send a score report to USEFP directly and use code 9388. The General (International) GRE Test score is needed when applying. For Engineering and Sciences, a decent GRE score is 315+, and for other fields, it is 310+. No GRE subject test is required.

For entry into the Fulbright, you need at least a 138 in verbal and a 136 in quantitative. The GRE score of accepted applicants is often in the upper percentile. When you take the GRE test again, you may report your highest score, and Fulbright will only look at it. A TOEFL score is not required to submit an application. If you are asked for an interview, you must take the TOEFL test. The IELTS isn’t acceptable.

(4) Prepare Two Essays

The Fulbright Scholarship has two essay requirements. Each essay in your application must be no more than 800 words. Be clear in your essays so that those outside your field of work can more easily understand what you do. You need to come up with a marketing strategy before you start writing the essays. Essays written by successful applicants usually take 4-6 weeks to perfect.

(5) Three Recommendation letters are required

Your application must include three recommendations by the deadline. It is possible to obtain 3 academic reference letters, or 2 academics and 1 professional, or 2 professionals and 1 academic. A minimum of one academic reference letter is required. Applicants’ referees must fill out the reference forms in the application package and sign, stamp, and seal them. The referees will be emailed an online form once their application has been submitted online.

“Who should write your references” is not a set formula. Your employer might be hesitant to give you a recommendation in order to keep your current position. USEFP does not want to do anything that will jeopardize your career during the application process. You can ask a former employer, teacher, or researcher who knows you well enough to answer them.

(6) Prepare Academic Resume

To increase the chance of receiving a callback, your most up-to-date resume should be included in your application. No special format is required.

(7) Submit Online Application

To apply to the Fulbright program, there is no application fee, and must be submitted online.

(8) Interview

Your written application may be reviewed and a panel interview may be scheduled. We will reach decisions by September and we’ll be conducting interviews in October. If you have not been contacted by USEFP by the end of October, you have not been selected.

It is a positive indicator of selection, but it does not guarantee admission. Four interviewers conduct the interviews, which last 15-30 minutes. On the day of your TOEFL interview, you will need to bring your registration slip with you.
