Students are eligible for this scholarship if they are studying for a Masters’s degree. TU Wien offers a scholarship that covers EUR 6000 per year for a period of up to two years and waives all tuition fees.
It is dedicated to an outstanding computer scientist who worked in the fields of computer-aided verification, logic in computer science, computer security, and software engineering. Until his untimely death, Helmut Veith was an active champion and advocate for female scientists in computer engineering.
To be eligible for funding, applicants must demonstrate good progress during their studies and reside in Austria for the duration of their studies. Helmut Veith Stipend has been established thanks to the generous support of TU Wien, Wolfgang Pauli Institute, and Helmut Veith’s family and friends.

Eligibility Criteria for Helmut Veith Stipend
Candidates for the Helmut Veith Stipend must meet the following criteria:
Required Language: English
Eligible Countries: All world countries.
⇒ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or equivalent degree.
→ Only applicants who have been unconditionally admitted to the master’s program will receive funding.
⇒ To apply for TU Wien’s English-taught computer science master’s programs, applicants must be eligible for admission.

How to Apply for Helmut Veith Stipend 2022?
Follow these instructions to receive Helmut Veith’s Stipend for Women in Computer Science:
The following documents are required:
→ Curriculum Vitae
→ A cover letter describing the type of funding the student is seeking, as well as any other details the student considers relevant to the application.
→ In a Motivation Letter, students describe why they are interested in studying in the program Logic and Computation, why funding is necessary, and which faculty groups they would like to work with during their master’s thesis.
→ A diploma/certificate (whether from first to bachelor’s degrees and beyond). A preliminary academic certificate (indicating the type of degree and the expected graduation date) signed and stamped by the degree-awarding university must be submitted if the final academic certificate is not yet available.
→ Transcripts of university examinations
→ Details of two referees (for letters of recommendation)
→ Passport copy
→ Certificate of English language proficiency (TOEFL or similar)
