A candidate must meet all of the following requirements in order to qualify for the Horatio Alger Scholarship:

  Currently, be a full-time senior in high school with plans to enroll in an undergraduate university as a first-year student no later than the fall following graduation.

  Students are advised to start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution if they are committed to completing a four-year bachelor’s degree.

  Demonstrate that your family is earning $55,000 a year or less adjusted gross.

  Get involved in activities such as after-school activities, volunteerism, and charitable causes.

  Adhere to the highest moral principles and persist in the face of adversity

  Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.

  You must be a citizen of the United States
