Scholarship Offered
A recipient of a University of Waterloo Scholarship will receive the following benefits:
- One-term study awards of up to $2,500 will be given, one-term work awards of up to $5,000, and two-term work awards of up to $10,000.
- It is valued at $2,500 per term for a maximum of six terms.
Requirements for the University of Waterloo Scholarships
Applicants must meet the following criteria for the University of Waterloo Scholarships:

Eligible Countries: All World Countries
→ Candidates who have an academic standing of 70% average at the undergraduate level
→ Candidates with an academic standing of 75% average at the graduate level are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
→ Eligible applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students in any faculty and be eager to participate in an international experience in Israel that includes a compensated or volunteer co-op placement, volunteer placement, academic exchange, or a study term relevant to their requirements.
→ International students hold a Canadian study permit and are registered as full-time assessed tuition at the international level.
→ They are usually offered to undergraduate or graduate students as part of their coursework (thesis or major research paper).
→ Students entering the first term of their program will typically receive it.
→ In order to meet their school’s academic excellence requirements, students must present their academic proficiency in ways outlined by the Faculty.
→ Students in a program must meet specific academic standards and cannot have probationary status or be placed on academic probation.
→ Recipients of this award could be granted internal or external scholarships such as UW’s Graduate Scholarship or UW Oshkosh’s OGS. on the other hand; scholarships are very different from other sponsorship.
→ Students cannot accept Chinese or Libyan scholarships or private scholarships over faculty-sanctioned minimum levels if they receive funding from another agency.
→ Students grand-parented under the IMSA program cannot be nominated for an IMAE, but someone who already won one can be nominated for another.
→ If a student applies to this award through their application, they are automatically a recipient.
→ Faculty or departments may assign recipients based on specific criteria and allotment.
→ Depending on the Faculty, stricter eligibility criteria may be imposed.

- Prospective students who have taken admissions should have a link to the application on their ‘Application Forms‘ pages.
- All applicants must submit a personal statement that references their admissions application, and all applicants must meet a minimum English language ability required for admission.
Here are the instructions for applying for the International Master’s Award of Excellence scholarship:
- Prospective students will be automatically considered for this award based on their admission application. So no additional scholarship applications are required.
- Departments or faculties can nominate students to be selected as scholarship recipients.
